Accounting Manager

Birmingham, AL



Boulo Solutions is partnering with a family owned food manufacturing business in Birmingham, AL looking to hire an Accounting Manager to join their team. Salary: $75,000-$85,000 based on experience
Flexibility: Culture, Remote Fridays
Benefits: 75% paid Health coverage, 401k 10% of salary company contributed after one year, 10 days PTO after one year (prorated) and 11 paid holidays plus other benefits. 

The Accounting Manager is highly involved with the daily and monthly accounting activities while focusing on manufacturing accounting and product costs. This role is actively engaged in collaboration with the Supply & Logistics team to understand production processes and impact on product costs and financial results. This individual will analyze key drivers including material, labor, and overhead as it flows through NetSuite. Additionally, the Accounting Manager must be able to perform account reconciliations, assist with month end closing processes, maintain and oversee fixed assets, and assist with accounts payable and accounts receivables when needed. Overall, this person should have the ability to adapt to changing priorities. This candidate must have advanced Excel skills, possess excellent communication skills, and possess the ability to learn the company’s new manufacturing ERP system in a timely manner.


The essential responsibilities of this job include the following:

· Analyze key drivers of product costs, including material, labor and overhead analysis as it flows through NetSuite

· Analyze profit margin by customer

· Assist with month end closing

· Perform various account reconciliations

· Process journal entries

· Oversee fixed assets, to include maintaining records, preparing depreciation & amortization journal entries, working with plant management to identify and document each asset

· Provide assistance in all areas of the accounting department as required


A. Experience/Education

· Accounting or Finance degree required

· Minimum of 5 years Accounting and Analytic experience within a manufacturing environment preferred

· NetSuite, or similar ERP experience is preferred

· Strong attention to organization, detail, and accuracy

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

B. Skills

· Expert knowledge and proficiency in Excel with the ability to build Pivot Tables and utilize formulas such as VLOOKUP, IF, etc.

· Expert knowledge and proficiency with other MS Office applications including Word and Outlook
