Family Medicine Locums – Flexible dates
Bonavista, NL
The Bonavista Peninsula Health Centre is located in Bonavista, NL, and has 10 inpatient beds which include one palliative care bed. The Protective Care Unit has 13 beds. The services include 24-hour emergency services, blood collection, laboratory services, diagnostic imaging, x-ray, diabetic education, dietician, chemotherapy services, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, phototherapy, mental health, outpatient clinics, and inpatient services. The Centre is associated with the long-term care facility Golden Heights Manor which consists of 70 beds (level 3 care) which includes 1 respite bed.
Short-term locums are required to provide Emergency/On-call services.
Longer-term locums are required to contribute to daily care delivery by providing emergency department and after-hours call coverage, as well as, scheduled ambulatory clinics and walk-in-clinics. Outside of the facility, the physicians are responsible for providing outreach clinics in Trinity, as well as inpatient coverage and general practice clinics at the Golden Heights Manor. The services include chronic disease management, long-term care, palliative care, respite care, prenatal care, emergency care / patient stabilization and transfer, minor surgery, and acute in-patient care.
Qualifications:
Medical Degree with specialist training in Family Medicine.
Must currently hold Full Independent license in Canada OR hold CCFP and MCCQE1 exam
Eligible for registration and license with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador.
Or your training and certification is from an approved jurisdiction. Approved jurisdictions: United States, United Kingdom, Ireland and Australia
