Chamberlain Advisors is conducting an executive search for a CFO for a rapidly growing beverage manufacturing platform company. As a cornerstone of the leadership team, you will report directly to the President and be accountable for FP&A stewardship, budgeting, forecasting, modeling, benchmarking, and financial reporting for the company. This is an extraordinary opportunity for an experienced finance leader with an entrepreneurial spirit who would be excited to provide finance leadership to scale a company.

Chief Financial Officer of an Organization or Business Unit: A senior executive experienced in overseeing and managing the financial operations of a company. This includes accountability and supervision of critical functions within the finance and accounting division, finance integrations, treasury functions, as well as the management of monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial reporting processes.

VP of Finance or Deputy Chief Financial Officer: An accomplished finance professional who has effectively led key aspects of a finance function and is now prepared for promotion to the CFO level.

Entrepreneurial Spirit and Nimble Learner: The ideal candidate will have a strong desire to build, grow, and own the outcomes of a business’s success, with a continuous improvement mindset and a willingness to take a hands-on approach to achieve results quickly. Someone who proactively stays abreast of evolving financial regulations, market trends, and industry best practices and adapts to continuous change within a growing organization.

M&A Experience: Candidate should possess experience supporting M&A activities, demonstrating proficiency in roll-up strategies, transaction planning, oversight of M&A transaction accounting, and execution of post-close integration for acquisitions. Experience with Asset Purchase Agreements (APAs) is desired, indicating a deep understanding of intricate transaction elements and a successful track record in deal execution. Additionally, the candidate should excel in business optimization and risk management, showcasing a proactive approach to maximize value, navigate manufacturing-focused M&A challenges, and maintain a holistic perspective with an understanding of nuanced dynamics of revenue growth.

ERP System Integration: Experience driving the seamless integration of acquired entities into an organization's ERP system, overseeing the entire process, from planning to execution and collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure the efficient consolidation of financial systems, streamline processes, and optimize reporting structures. Leveraging expertise in post-acquisition financial integration, the candidate should have a proven track record of aligning systems, policies, and procedures to maximize synergies and support the overall financial strategy of the organization.

Financial Modeling: The ideal candidate should possess expertise in comprehensive financial modeling, adeptly handling both traditional and non-traditional proforma and balance sheet models, with a focus on strategic FP&A modeling and budgeting. The candidate should be highly skilled in data collection and synthesizing complex financial information to present it in a clear and concise manner and have proven proficiency in generating comprehensive reports that facilitate transparent communication of financial performance against benchmarks. Additionally, the ideal candidate should bring strategic foresight to forecasting and budgeting processes, aligning financial goals with overarching business objectives, and managing robust financial forecasts to support informed decision-making and proactive financial planning.

Commercial Banking & Treasury Function: The candidate for the Commercial Banking & Treasury Management role should have experience in leading financing initiatives, negotiating debt agreements, and cultivating banking relationships, including syndicate selection. They must oversee the daily treasury function, managing both banking and third-party relationships, conducting analyses of working capital needs, and forecasting cash flow. With a proven track record in supporting banking relationships and Asset-Based Lending (ABL), the candidate should have experience navigating banking intricacies, particularly during acquisition phases, demonstrate an understanding of covenants for compliance with financial agreements.

Food & Beverage or CPG Manufacturing Experience: Strategic financial management experience in the food & beverage manufacturing or CPG manufacturing sectors, with demonstrated expertise in navigating industry intricacies, including regulatory considerations, market trends, and supply chain dynamics.

What you’ll be accountable for:

Strategic and Team Leadership
  • Collaborating with Principals and the President to establish forward-looking financial objectives aligned with overall business goals, providing insights and recommendations for decision-making, and developing strategic plans for organizational financial success.
  • Leading the development of financial operations tailored to each business unit's unique needs, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Overseeing business deals impacting profits, conducting financial analyses, evaluating risks, and providing recommendations for profitable outcomes.
  • Fostering an environment that prioritizes the mental, spiritual, and physical well-being of team members.
  • Seeking and providing constructive feedback, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement, and holding oneself and others accountable for their actions and responsibilities within the team.

Compliance, Reporting, and Forecasting
  • Producing detailed and accurate financial reports for investors, providing a comprehensive overview of the company's financial health.
  • Coordinating and managing the company's investment plans, involving strategic planning, risk assessment, and collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Facilitating annual external audits of the Company’s financial statements and internal control environment.
  • Conducting thorough audits of company expenditures to validate transactions, ensure accuracy, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Spearheading the automation of reporting systems for the accounting and finance departments, implementing software solutions for streamlined reporting processes and enhanced data accuracy.
  • Making accurate financial forecasts, analyzing financial data, market trends, and internal factors for reliable predictions of the company's future financial performance.
  • Monitoring and assessing the company's progress toward revenue goals, providing timely advice and strategic adjustments for the achievement of financial targets.

Financial Operations and Management
  • Supervising day-to-day operations of the finance department, ensuring efficiency and compliance.
  • Leading comprehensive efforts in auditing and analyzing company expenses, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and identifying cost optimization opportunities, while also establishing systematic methods to track and manage expenses, implementing tools for enhanced accuracy and transparency, and developing/implementing cost-saving strategies, optimizing spending, negotiating contracts, and exploring innovative cost-saving measures.
  • Organizing the department's resources effectively, including personnel, budgetary resources, and technology.
  • Managing and guiding finance & accounting employees, providing leadership, fostering professional development, and ensuring a collaborative working environment.
  • Liaising with Sales and Commercial resources in the establishment of annual budgets and customer pricing and partnering on customer collections and technology platforms to support field teams.
  • Liaising with HR, Legal, IT, and Public Affairs in a variety of matters pertaining to personnel, compensation, risk, public affairs, technology, and insurance.
  • Supporting annual insurance renewal and benefit/pension related matters.


What qualifications you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or finance; MBA or equivalent experience strongly preferred.
  • Professional designations (CPA, CA, CMA) preferred; knowledge of GAAP principles.
  • 15+ years of progressive finance leadership experience.
  • 10+ years of experience providing oversight of finance & accounting teams. 
  • Financial leadership in a company going through a period of rapid growth driven by M&A. 
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a proven ability to build and operate with minimal direction.
  • Adaptive learning style, proactive in staying informed about industry trends, and open to continuous learning.
  • Knowledge of commercial banking operations, ABL, banking reporting, and cash flow management.
  • Background in food & beverage or CPG manufacturing.
  • Financial Modeling proficiency to support strategic decision-making.
  • Financial acumen and strategic thinking, with the ability to elevate and train finance functions.
  • Experience in leading post-acquisition integration efforts, realizing synergies, and optimizing operations.
  • Strong understanding of ERP system integration and implementation.
