Clutch is looking for an Account Director for a client of ours.

The Account Director plays a pivotal role in managing and nurturing relationships with agency clients and partners, fostering an environment that delivers robust, efficient, and creative solutions. With a deep understanding of client needs extending beyond marketing, the Account Director strategically aligns agency offerings with client goals, ensuring an approach that consistently adds value.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Build strong client relationships and enhance agency value, internally and externally.
- Provide leadership in all creative development stages, collaborating with Digital and Creative Directors.
- Manage Account Executives and oversee their operations.
- Communicate and negotiate projects/deliverables effectively with clients.
- Ensure integrity of approved marketing efforts within agency framework and client standards.
- Resolve issues collaboratively, driving clients and the agency creatively and strategically.
- Ensure timely project completion within established budgets.
- Oversee clients’ annual budgets, forecasting opportunities, and troubleshooting.
- Identify client needs and unique business opportunities proactively.
- Foster business expansion with existing clients and generate new accounts.
- Provide feedback to Accounts team for objective achievement and career growth.
- Drive development of templates, resources, and collateral beneficial for the Accounts team.
- Assign clients to appropriate Account Executive and/or Account Coordinator.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

Client Relationship Management and Growth

- Establish one-on-one relationships with senior-level clients, nurturing partnership with the agency.
- Anticipate and address clients’ business needs proactively, offering solutions and recommendations supported by data.
- Immerse in client’s business to champion innovative ideas and collaborate effectively for implementation.
- Cross-sell services/new project work based on client goals and situational cues.
- Address and resolve current and unforeseen situations decisively.
- Build trust across all services by keeping clients informed of relevant industry insights and agency capabilities.
- Attend status calls regularly to stay informed of project status, identify risks, and provide solutions.
- Support AE on strategic needs and navigating challenges.

Campaign Strategy and Oversight

- Stay updated on client’s business and industry to guide creative development and provide strategic insights.
- Develop strategic marketing solutions aligning with client business objectives.
- Seek innovative solutions to showcase agency value and advance client objectives.
- Define communication strategy and testing opportunities in collaboration with clients and AE.
- Develop campaign brief and budget across service lines and channels, ensuring client alignment.
- Oversee campaign from concept through completion, offering guidance and recommendations.
- Ensure proper reporting requirements per client scopes are met by AE and Digital Team.
  
New Business Development

- Define target accounts/Clients and assist with developing annual growth plans.
- Rally internal and external resources to support strategic recommendations for prospective clients.
- Review presentation materials and support sales calls based on target client needs.
- Develop and deploy sales campaigns effectively, managing through to completion.

Scope Development

- Guide monthly budget reports with AE, ensuring projects are on track.
- Manage client expectations and develop payment plan/schedules aligned with clients.
- Identify solutions to mitigate issues creatively and achieve monthly targets.
- Communicate out-of-scope budget adjustments and track by AE.
- Track monthly projections, build estimates, and identify growth opportunities.

Project Ownership and Oversight

- Schedule discovery calls to map out expectations and align on deliverables.
- Develop scope of work meeting profit/margin expectations, gaining client approval.
- Establish timeline assuring success and meeting client goals.
- Define detailed list of deliverables and oversee budget and timeline consistently.
- Implement effective content/creative from concept to completion.
  
Client Onboarding

- Lead onboarding meetings, supported by AE.
- Schedule internal kickoffs to ensure client set ups/projects are on track.
- Oversee project handoffs to ensure a smooth process for clients.
- Identify unknowns or roadblocks proactively and offer support/solutions.

Team Management and Development

- Provide effective day-to-day leadership for the Accounts team, guiding direction, and opportunities.
- Support team growth, leading by example consistently.
- Develop in-depth training plans for team members to foster skills and expertise.

SKILLS DESIRED

- 5-7 years of digital marketing/advertising experience or equivalent background.
- Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and team management experience.
- Highly responsive with executive-level communication ability.
- Proficiency in digital campaign strategy and execution, both organic and paid.
- Ability to analyze performance metrics and share reporting and ROI insights.
- Eagerness to learn about different industries and business models.
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
- Previous experience with banking or financial clients is a significant advantage.
