Consilio’s client, a major health insurance company headquartered in Chicago, is in search of a Senior Contracting Analyst and Negotiator. This candidate will be responsible for working with the company’s procurement contracting managers and senior contracting managers in the facilitation, negotiation, completion, and execution of agreements with suppliers and other service providers conducting business with client. The Senior Contracting Analyst and Negotiator will be expected to establish and maintain positive relationships with internal business partners and other stakeholders while facilitating the expeditious negotiation of contracts. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates possessing strong communication and contract negotiation skills along with deep knowledge of third-party contracts.
The candidate selected for this role will start working for the client in a full-time, contract capacity and, following the successful completion of a six-month introductory period, be hired as a permanent employee of the company. This is a hybrid role in which candidates will be expected to work three days per week on-site, at the firm's offices, which are adjacent to Millenium Park in downtown Chicago.
Required Job Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree, plus minimum of 5 years of experience drafting and negotiating contract documents, such as business arrangements and/or professional services and/or consulting services and/or outsourcing services and/or legal regulatory contracts and/or contracts for data sharing and/or contracts for software licenses, support, and maintenance and/or reviewing and drafting contract terms and conditions for master agreements and sub-agreements, such as statements of work or order forms.
Proven ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent interpersonal, writing and communication skills.
Preferred Job Qualifications:
Law (Juris Doctor) degree; legal, contract management, or paralegal experience.
Experience reviewing and drafting terms and conditions (as a buyer or seller) for master agreements, sub-agreements, such as statements of work and order forms, nondisclosure agreements, evaluation agreements, and contract addendums required by government regulations, as applicable.
Knowledge of the principles and practices of the purchasing process, contract administration, strategic sourcing, negotiation and purchasing systems.
Experience negotiating agreements in a health care industry setting.
Experience negotiating supplier agreements, which are subject to regulatory requirements.
Familiarity with HIPAA regulations, and data type designations, such as PII and PHI.
Experience facilitating negotiation of agreement terms and conditions relating to
information security matters.
Experience using an automated contract management system.
Experience using an automated electronic signature system or tool.
Experience using Outlook, Microsoft Word, and other Microsoft applications.
