(Paralegal -Consumer Litigation | Full-Time: Contract | Monday - Friday | Hybrid – Dallas/ Fort Worth | Duration: 3-4 months)

LOD/Consilio is currently seeking a Paralegal (Consumer Litigation) for a hybrid assignment to cover a 3-month unexpected medical leave.

Job Description:

Support internal and external litigation counsel in all stages of litigation.
The role will be day-to-day managing consumer lit cases, facilitating the exchange of internal info/docs with outside counsel, helping to evaluate cases and settlement, exposure, etc.
Assist with the factual development and analysis of cases, including talking with the relevant business partners, gathering, and reviewing documents, and creating timelines.
Manage the discovery process, including the collection, retention, and production of documents, drafting written responses to discovery, and setting up and maintaining document review platforms.
Draft basic legal documents, including settlement agreements, document retention notices, and response letters.
Prepare court documents for filing.
Communicate with opposing parties and negotiate settlements.
Maintain the case file and litigation calendar and monitor case dockets.

Candidate Requirements:

3+ years of relevant experience handling litigation matters.
Consumer litigation background is a plus.
Bachelor’s degree and/or paralegal certification preferred or equivalent experience and evidence of exceptional ability.
Understanding of litigation motion practice, discovery, arbitration, trial, and appellate procedure.
Strong organizational, analytical, fact-finding, and negotiation skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage a high volume of matters, work efficiently, prioritize workflow, meet demanding deadlines, and oversee multi-dimensional projects in a fast-paced environment.
Strong work ethic with a goal-oriented focus as well as flexibility to take on new areas of responsibilities.

Consilio offers flexible talent placement rates that range from $15 to $100 per hour depending upon experience level and specific skills requested by the client, candidate’s general skill set, applicability of candidate skill set to client need, client budget, number of hours requested, and other factors. A specific rate of pay for a project will be discussed with you if it is determined that you are a potential fit for a role.
