Live Events Coordinator

Description of the Work:

We are seeking a Live Events Manager to provide maintenance and technical support. Specifically, the task will encompass but not to be limited to: 

Manage clients and events on Capitol Hill: 
        1. Manage clients from introduction to the end of the event 
        2. Maintain client relationships to ensure return business 
        3. Equipment set up and take down 
        4. Provide technical support for events 
        5. Work side by side with other client personnel and staff
        6. Schedule additional team members as needed 
        7. Work with tech team to best serve customers with proper equipment
        8. Strong client management skills with a cordial and professional demeanor
 
      • Maintain client relationships to ensure return business and exceptional customer service 
      • Equipment set up and take down 
      • Provide technical support for events as needed including as needed on all but not limited to, operating mixers, cameras, lighting, projectors, sound, presentation equipment, screens and broadcasting.
      • Schedule additional team members as needed 
      • Work side by side with other client personnel and staff 
      • Comfortable with technician changes in audio, video and or lighting 
      • Determine client needs, provide total support 
      • Provide phone, email or in person technical support including troubleshooting AV Systems at Venue.
      • Train users how to integrate their devices for presentations 
      • Assist integration team in perform quarterly AV rack inspections/cleanings 
      • Assist integration team with quarterly maintenance reports
      • Assist installation team to install and integrate AV systems as requested
      • Communicate with fellow co-workers and managers on a daily basis 
      • Help support larger events as needed with training and testing of audio-visual equipment 
      • Inspect facilities to ensure they are being maintained
      • Dress code - business casual to business formal as required
      • Work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service
  1. Requirements Experience and/or Education:
  • 1 years of technical event management experience in theaters, corporate, hospitality, and or convention centers
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Basic knowledge of audio-visual equipment including some or all of the following (microphones, DSP’s, , video projection, video signals such as HDMI, HD-SDI, etc., lighting fixtures,  and basic troubleshooting skills)
  • Computer Software (Windows, Mac OS, iOS, Office 365 Suite)
  • Experience dealing with demanding customers in high pressure and stress situations in live events
  • Self-starter and initiative to want to learn, excel, and grow in the audio-visual industry
  • Highly organized and good communicator with strong customer service skills
  • Flexible work hours as needed by client event timelines including nights and weekends
  • Always punctual, preferably ahead of schedule
  • Ability to help with user error training in a professional manner Able to walk, stand, climb ladders and stairs, and lift up to 25lbs
  • Must be willing to work in downtown Washington D.C.

  • Strong English speaking, reading, and writing ability
Requirements Knowledge, Skill, and Ability (KSA) and Competency:  
 
  • Technical understanding of AV and IT systems.
  • Up-to-date awareness of AV technologies and their features
  • Expertise in video conferencing 
  • Knowledge of the architectural, cabling, and control system requirements of AV technologies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office.
  • Interpersonal and communications skills.
  • Strong technical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledge of video teleconferencing systems, audio/video web streaming, and the software and equipment needed to stream audio/video over the Web.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgement and discretion.
  • Knowledge of and ability to use various automated office systems and software programs.

Requirements Physical and Work Environment: 

This position is located in an indoor setting that is adequately heated, lighted, and ventilated. The work is performed around equipment with moving parts and may involve moderate risks which require special safety precautions. The incumbent must be able to meet minimum physical requirements and demands. Specifically, the incumbent must:
  • Lift and/or move 25 pounds or more regularly.
  • Stand, bend, crouch, lift, twist, and grasp.
  • Possess manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination sufficient to safely set up and operate equipment.
  • Participate in training to obtain/maintain awareness of and ensure adherence to all safety policies, procedures, and processes. ???????
