Configuration Management Engineer

Contract

??????Our client is seeking a Configuration Management Engineer to support its projects through design, construction, and operations. The Configuration Management Engineer is responsible for developing, maintaining, updating, and implementing configuration items, controlling configuration baselines, and conducting configuration related audits. 

Location: Remote
Duration: 12+ month contract

Responsibilities
 
  • Performing the day-to-day activities of associated the Configuration Management process, including database reviews, data quality management, etc.
  • Tracking compliance to policies and procedures and resolving / escalating any compliance issues
  • Support Configuration Management audits
  • Supports communication and engagement with business and IT management to encourage configuration management efforts
  • Engages with project participants to ensure Configuration Management alignment on required Configuration Management System (CMS) functionality.
  • Works closely with the Digital Engineering team to ensure that the Digital Engineering platform supports the CMS.
  • Promotes organizational understanding of on Configuration Management services, concepts, policies, and procedures
  • Supports Design reviews and Change Control Board Meetings as required
  • Supports CMIS functionality improvement through requirements, use cases, etc.
  • Support efficient and effective service management processes by providing accurate and timely configuration information that aids decision-making (e.g., to authorize change and release and resolve incidents and problems faster).
Key Qualifications and Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or related field and at least 5 years of configuration management experience in a nuclear or other highly regulated industry, or Master's and at least 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Process improvement experience. Ability to identify needed changes to processes and activities and help to implement continuous improvement solutions.
  • Experience with engineering strategies for new technologies and infrastructure processes.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Detailed understanding of Configuration Management concepts, and ability to document this understanding in configuration management processes and procedures
  • Ability to apply expertise on multiple complex work assignments
  • Operates with appreciable latitude in developing methodology and presenting solutions to problems
  • Contributes to deliverables and performance metrics where applicable
  • Strong communication skills desired
  • The successful candidate will possess a high degree of trust and integrity, communicate openly and display respect, and a desire to foster teamwork
  • Actual position starting level and title will be determined based on assessment of qualifications.
Estimated Compensation Range for WA residents: $50.00/hr - $100.00/hr
