Donald L. Mooney Enterprises, LLC dba NURSES Etc STAFFING is sourcing qualified Field Nurses for U.S. Department of Labor, Office of Workers’ Compensation Programs (OWCP), for the Division of Federal Employees Longshore and Harbor Workers'
Contractor’s Field Nurses (FNs) are Registered Nurse Case Managers who assist in the medical management of disability claims and provide IWs with assistance in coordinating medical care and returning to work. Registered Nurses providing Field and Triage Nurse Case Manager Services
•Hold a current, active unrestricted license to practice nursing within the United States, Puerto
Rico, and other US territories; AND
•Have a minimum of two (2) years adult medical/surgical nursing experience and a minimum of
two (2) years case management experience in the workers’ compensation arena OR,
•Have a minimum of one (1) year adult medical/surgical nursing experience and three (3) years
case management experience in the workers’ compensation arena.
•Also preferred (but not required): Recent experience with the FECA nurse intervention program
(within the last 5 years, with good performance and no disciplinary actions)
•Also preferred (but not required): Specialized certification in one of the following areas:
Occupational Health (COHN); Case Management (CCM), Insurance Rehabilitation (CIRS/CRRN), Disability Management (CDMS), and/or Nurse Case Manager Board Certified (ANCC/ANA).
The Contractor’s FN is a Registered Nurse Case Manager, assigned to work directly with FECA IWs either in person/face-to-face or telephonic only, who assists in the management of disability claims by utilizing and providing specialized nurse case management skills, techniques, and knowledge in the context of the workers' compensation arena.
FN Case Management Services
FN case management services are performed by Registered Nurses (RN) and involve the use of professional nursing knowledge, assessment, and
Contractor’s telephonic FN intervention is appropriate where adequate nurse intervention services can be provided by telephonic and written
communications. In person attendance at key medical appointments, home visits, and work site visits is utilized when needed where there are
complications in care, and to ensure continuity and forward progress in recovery and return to work.
In more severe and/complex injury cases, in person services are expected to be more frequent. Examples of injuries where more frequent in person
services are expected:
• Severe eye injuries involving visual acuity changes or loss.
• Severe brain or closed head injury with loss of consciousness.
• Prolonged hospitalization.
• Spinal cord injury or crushing injuries.
• 2nd- and 3rd-degree burns (>30 percent body) including chemical or electrical.
• Stress or psychiatric claims.
• Traumatic amputations of the hand, foot, arm or leg
• Any injury resulting in paralysis or coma.
Pay Rate will be based on factors such as specialty, shift schedule, level of experience, and performance location.
