Job Description:
- Provides coverage and shares on call duty with the Operations Manager.
- Performs inspections, water analysis and troubleshooting, to optimize plant performance.
- Plan and coordinates plant maintenance as required to maximize plant availability and optimize cost effectiveness.
- Prepares accurate plant documentation, to assure that proper historical records and reporting of plant operation and maintenance is done.
- Participates in planned day operator shift coverage at the discretion of the Operations Manager.
- Formulate and executes projects assigned by the Operations Manager.
- Promotes and works with others in a team environment.
- Coordinates plant production in accordance with contracts and owners representatives.
- Communicates verbally and in writing to customers, suppliers, and operators to ensure optimum resource utilization.
- Administers shift schedules, housekeeping assignments, and operations routines.
- Assists with operations/maintenance training and qualification programs.
- Must make expeditious appropriate decision to non-routine plant operating situations.
Education:
- 2nd Engineer's License or higher in Massachusetts.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of five years’ experience in a power generating facility or equivalent experience.
- Competent oral and written communication skills are required.
- Other skills required include knowledge of computer systems and software, and the ability to read technical manuals and drawings.
- Demonstrates full knowledge and proficiency in the operation and maintenance of a combined-cycle combustion turbine generating station, including balance-of-plant equipment.
- Demonstrated supervisory skills.
- Requires standing, sitting, walking, kneeling, twisting, climbing stairs and ladders, and entering plant equipment to access, inspect, or collect data on plant equipment.
- Work overtime and non-standard working hours as required.
- Requires wearing personal protective safety equipment (respirators, safety glasses, hard hat, appropriate footwear, ear plugs, etc.)
- Requires operation of a personal computer.
- May be required to work around rotating and energized equipment, hazardous materials and chemicals.
- Occasionally requires lifting as appropriate to perform duties and responsibilities.
