Title:  Plant Manager

Location:  Scriba, NY

Pay:  $180,000-$200,000 Base – 40% Bonus – Relocation Assistance

Schedule:  Monday – Friday with additional hours based on plant conditions

Lead the operations & maintenance team of this power plant with 40 direct and indirect reports including an Operations, Maintenance, EHS&S, and Business Manager with additional supervisors leading operations, maintenance, and IC&E departments.  Our client is an expanding energy company headquartered in the U.S. looking for a proven manager ideally who can lead a collective bargained facility.  The budgets range from around $20MM+ and any project management experience would be an asset to the facility.

Job Description:

  • Establish and monitor administrative procedures for the facility.
  • Oversee and monitor purchasing at the facility.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with federal, state and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Interpret, monitor, and ensure compliance with all contract provisions.
  • Monitor federal, state and local energy regulatory activities and their impacts to the facility.
  • Monitor facility payroll and benefit programs, procedures and policies.
  • Other duties as designated by the company.
  • Ensure active compliance with environmental, health & safety programs.
  • Analyze facility’s actual financial performance versus budget.
  • Approve routine financial statements and other required reports for partners, banks and regulatory agencies.
  • Ensure that all Facility personnel comply with established financial authority limits for the procurement and invoice processing.
  • Responsible for all day-to-day operation, maintenance, fiscal and administrative functions of the facility and for achieving company and group goals.
  • Establish and obtain approval of a complete annual operating budget and operating plan that is consistent with the objectives of the business.
  • Manage the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
  • Measure and control performance against the approved budget.
  • Establish, implement and consistently evaluate comprehensive operation standards, procedures and programs which comply with the business objectives, as well as governmental, contractual and environmental requirements, and identify strengths, weaknesses and areas of potential problems, along with suggested corrective measures.
  • Control and maintain the supplies program that evaluates and controls the level of inventory required to effectively operate the Facility, while limiting inventory costs.
  • Select, train and manage a work force that is motivated, flexible in skills, cross-trained and technically astute.
  • Responsible for all day-to-day operation, maintenance, fiscal and administrative functions of the facility and for achieving company and group goals.

  • Manage the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
