Title:  Power Plant Engineer

Location:  Marion, IA

Pay:  $120,000-$140,000 Base - $5,000-$10,000 Outage Pay – Relocation Assistance – 15% Bonus

Schedule:  Flexible hours Monday – Friday – Up To 25% travel to plants in the area.

Job Description:

  • Perform field inspections, field measurements and equipment walk downs, focusing on assessing Gas & Steam Turbines and associated equipment.
  • Recommend changes in procedures, equipment, or materials as necessary to maintain and improve turbine performance, reduce O&M costs, and increase reliability.
  • This position will help develop and lead steam turbine, gas turbine, and generator maintenance strategies.
  • This team is responsible for the following: planning, scheduling, conducting major overhauls; planning and conducting large repetitive maintenance tasks; providing outage resource management; providing craft labor management and supervision; managing alliances.
  • You will plan, direct, and implement large steam turbine, combustion turbine and generator outage maintenance and engineering projects in a safe and environmentally conscious manner.
  • Experience in the operation, maintenance and repair of generators, steam turbines or combustion turbines.
  • Knowledge of the GT component management, repair, metallurgical mechanical and NDT assessment including failure of GT components.
  • Project management skills, working knowledge of the electric and steam generation industry and any experience with power plant operations would be a plus
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills - with an ability to communicate with a wide range of customers (engineers, plant management, finance, skilled laborers)
  • Proven ability to use computer software programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Working knowledge of AutoCad or similar programming is preferred.
