Title:  Power Plant Operator

Location:  Holly Hill, SC

Pay:  $25/Hour – 8% Annual Bonus – Relocation Assistance – 4 weeks of PTO to start

Schedule:  12 Hour Rotating Modified DuPont Schedule – 6:30 In/Out Time

Job Description:

  • Work rotating shift hours, overtime, and irregular hours as needed to support reliable operation of the facility;
  • Record data such as temperature of equipment, hours of operation, fuel consumption, temperature or pressure, water level, analysis of flue gases, voltage load, and generator balance;
  • Operate, maintain and repair equipment, such as repairs fluidized bubbling bed combustor, steam generators, steam turbines, electrical generators, air compressors, motors, pumps, compressors, electrical switchgear, loaders, ash and fuel handling systems, bulldozers and small utility equipment;
  • Uses prescribed plant operations procedures to adjust manual control or override automatic controls to bring equipment into recommended or prescribed operating range;
  • Operate the plant equipment in a safe manner through the use of plant operations procedures as directed by the Shift Supervisor;
  • Perform routine plant rounds and record keeping;
  • Ability to operate heavy equipment, including loaders, dozers and forklifts as necessary;
  • Ability to install, align, dismantle and move stationary industrial machinery and mechanical; equipment, such as pumps, fans, and conveyors according to layout plans;
  • Ability to inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions;
  • May assist with scheduled, unscheduled, and preventative maintenance tasks;
  • Perform all aspects of water test and treatments;
  • Perform ash-handling duties;
  • Comply with company plant safety and regulatory procedures;
  • For safety reasons, must be able to communicate both audibly and visually.
  • Possess a conceptual understanding of plant systems, including hydraulic theory;
  • Ability to interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics and diagrams for a variety of systems;
  • Ability to interpret lube oil analysis results and make recommendations;
  • Computer competency is a necessity;
  • Proficient technical report writing skills.
