Title: Control Room Operator
Location: New Britain, CT
Pay: $46-$51/Hour – 6% Annual Bonus – Relocation Assistance
Schedule: 12 Hour Rotating Modified DuPont Schedule – 6 O’Clock In/Out Time

This position is responsible for the safe, efficient, and compliant operations of natural gas power plant situated in New Britain, CT. Our client is a rapidly expanding private energy company with assets across the United States hiring in directly as a Control Room Operator with growth potential across their fleet short and long term. You will have the chance to lead two other auxiliary operators on shift and progress into a Senior Control Room Operator role. Hourly wages are competitive with 4 weeks of PTO to start as well.
Job Description:

- Communicate information clearly, both orally and written
- Troubleshoot plant equipment to resolve operational problems
- Properly operate Control Room, boiler, steam turbine, plant auxiliary equipment and systems, combustion turbines and auxiliaries during normal and emergency operation
- Apply knowledge of steam power plant operations and basic power plant principles to daily decision-making and work tasks
- Operate computers and printers
- Discern and respond to verbal and auditory signals from control panel
- Work without supervision inspection while carrying out duties
- Take, record and analyze readings of various electrical and mechanical meters
- Knowledge of and ability to operate various switches and valves and the effect each has on the total operation
- Operate various computer systems to receive, analyze, comprehend and input data
- Monitor and record data available through the use of various instruments, recording charts, annunciator systems and other monitoring devices onto shift logs as directed by plant operational procedures
- Implement Plant Emergency Procedures as needed
- Observe variations in operating conditions and interpret meter and gauge readings
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Communicate conditions of plant system and equipment to others
