Title: Controls Engineering Manager
Location: Henrietta, NY
Pay: $130,000-$140,000 Base – 10% Bonus – Relocation Assistance – 4 Week of PTO
Schedule: Monday – Friday 7am-3:30pm

This position is stationed on a large scale power and industrial site in Henrietta leading 10 individuals in the architecture of the plant’s DCS infrastructure ensuring hardware, software, and network reliability meets needs. Serve as a member of the site’s leadership team interfacing with the major stakeholders. Work with Technician and other Controls Engineers on cybersecurity and IT measures, preventative and corrective I&C maintenance, and overall safety and efficiency of daily operations. This position is available due to an internal promotion and will have additional opportunities to grow at the site long term.
Job Description:
- Provides leadership on the activities of I&C Technicians and Controls Engineers that work on the DCS system. Reviews work performance, that training is current and that changes have been properly documented and incorporated into the Drawing Control system.
- Maintains the DCS software, hardware, logic, and other administrative needs. Oversees the design, maintenance, and documentation required for the DCS system.
- Maintains the DCS system integrity. Is responsible for system restoration after hardware failures. Works on troubleshooting software and hardware problems. Provides the system interface with Operations and Management. Manages the control system hardware alarming function.
- Manages operational changes for the DCS. Is responsible for monitoring file systems for adequate drive space. Monitors processor loads and graphic displays. Is responsible for maintaining custom applications and user programs.
- Manages the system security for the DCS. Is responsible for the system backups for the Control Processor databases, displays, Work Station configurations and hard drive maintenance.
- Is responsible for access control from external systems for the Ethernet connection approval, node bus connections approval, LAN connection approval, the Allen Bradley network connection approval and the Allen Bradley MMI connection approval. Responsible for maintaining system access levels and authorization to the DCS environment to include the required I/A tools, Control faceplates, and password maintenance.
- Manages the preventative maintenance program for the DCS. Is responsible to maintain file systems on the system hosts. This will include unused compounds/blocks, unused display files, maintain log files, remove dump, core and log files, manage system hardware maintenance, documentation of screens, install Workstations, maintain the report writer and reboot these stations.
- Maintains the documentation that is necessary and required for the DCS. Is responsible for upgrade preparations and system documentation. Is responsible for the Foxboro support system which will include the cybersecurity program, the TAC program and coordinate field service interface activities.
