Title:  Instrumentation, Controls, & Electrical Technician

Location:  Joliet, IL

Pay:  $50/Hour – 7% Bonus – Relocation Assistance.

Schedule:  Days Monday – Friday 7am – 3:30pm

Job Description:

  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical switchgear, process controls, transmitters, analyzers, gauges, and control equipment in accordance with approved procedures and best practices, while working in a safe manner.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical equipment such as valves, pumps, and motors in accordance with approved procedures and best practices.
  • Perform preventive and corrective actions for the plant’s air monitoring systems.
  • Complete assigned safety, first aid, equipment operation, and other training as assigned.
  • Perform tasks related to housekeeping and maintaining plant security.
  • Overtime is required for corrective maintenance in emergency situations and to fill vacancies in operations.
  • Must possess basic math skills, good verbal communications skills, be proficient with the use of power and precision tools and knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • This job requires the ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions, climb vertical access ladders and stairwells. Must demonstrate the ability to observe, hear, walk, and communicate effectively.
  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Must work within and ensure strict adherence to all safety procedures.
  • Problem solving, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Good interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Must have a thorough knowledge and good troubleshooting skills related to instrumentation, electrical, and process control systems.
  • Pass pre-employment physical and drug screening.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with a basic understanding of chemistry, physics, electricity, and mathematics.
  • Must be able to think clearly and take appropriate actions during high stress situations, such as plant trips.
