Title: Senior Commodity Buyer

Salary: $85,000 - $105,000

What You’ll Be Doing:
- Develop and optimize procurement strategies for direct raw material commodities and streamline purchasing strategies for indirect spend categories.
- Contribute to energy-related buying decisions and business needs assessments to align with overall purchasing strategy.
- Participate in the capital procurement process for plant-specific capital projects.
- Identify consolidation opportunities with suppliers to secure the lowest cost of materials, considering safety, quality, sustainability, reliability, and urgency.
- Mitigate supply risk by establishing backup suppliers for critical spend categories.
- Negotiate and sourcing contracts with suppliers.
- Resolve supplier issues related to quality, delivery, and pricing.
- Proactively identify and lead cost-saving projects.
- Manage RFQ processes, including interviewing suppliers, recommending sources, and analyzing quotations to prepare recommendations.
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or related major
- Minimum 5 years of direct professional procurement experience with commodity management experience preferred
- ERP experience including SAP, JD Edwards, etc
- Excellent negotiation, analytical and organization skills
- Ability to plan and prioritize a wide variety of activities
