Title: Plant Controller
Location: Whately, MA
Schedule: Mon-Fri, 8-5, In Office
Salary: $125,000-$135,000
Bonus: 15% annual

What You’ll Be Doing:
The Plant Controller serves as the finance business partner for the Plant Management team. This individual will be responsible for the accounting-related processes at the plant in support of budgeting, product costing, capital spending, and productivity. Ensures the plant leadership team understands the impact of operating performance on financial results, drives a culture of continually improving both operating performance and financial processes while building and maintaining strong relationships with the plant leadership team. Key Responsibilities:

Responsible for all plant accounting activities

Analyze significant operating variances on a monthly basis and provide commentary on key drivers.

Develop and/or maintain key reporting tools to help inform Plant Management on trends and drivers to assist them in meeting financial commitments.

Developed processes to improve internal controls, improve operational efficiency with the Finance organization as well as driving manufacturing operations improvements.

Oversee the annual budgeting and forecasting process for the site.

Supported plant management with timely and detailed information to monitor and correct operational performance against forecast and plan targets.

Own the annual standard cost update process as well as drive improvements in the standard costing process.

Work with Inventory Control group to review cycle count adjustments; ensure root cause has been identified and corrected.

Analyze capital spending projects within overall Supply Chain; support cost/benefit analysis by calculating ROI/NPV and maintaining the capital budget.

Provide cost estimates to support new product initiatives as necessary; review and approve costing on all new SKU’s, raw materials and purchased finished goods.

Provide finance support for Value Analysis/Value Engineering and Lean Manufacturing initiatives, including analyzing and reporting potential/actual savings from actions.

Provide ad-hoc analysis as necessary enabling team to understand expected financial impact of proposals.

Manage month-end closing and prepare monthly financial statements and other operational reports for site.

Manage and develop two direct reports.

Drive a culture of continuous improvement.
Key Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting; significant accounting coursework required.

5+ years finance experience

Proven record of success as a strategically oriented financial manager with knowledge of supply chain finance

Strong analytical and proven statistical knowledge and experience required.

Good planning and organizational skills

Experience in handling multiple concurrent tasks and meeting deadlines

Excellent systems skill, including MS Office, especially Excel, as well as ERP system experience like Oracle & SAP (Preferably).
