RCS Corporation has an immediate need for a Systems Engineer Lead in Patuxent River, MD. This is a direct role, 20% - 50% onsite role with our client.
Overview of YOUR role as a Systems Engineer Lead:
The Systems Engineering IPT is responsible for the following capabilities/services:
- • Managing and maintaining the PMOs GOTS software solution. This software solution:
- o Provides a web-based enterprise platform enabling warfighters access to technical publications and maintenance data from authoritative data sources, globally.
- o Provides data transport management services for Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) and Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA).
- • Supporting an integrated data environment for Naval Aviation (ashore and afloat), Naval Sea Systems, Marine Corps, and Army Ground and Aviation programs/stakeholders.
- • Managing the development and maintenance of customized Weapons System Websites (WSWS) and system health monitoring dashboards for mission partners.
- • Providing customer onboarding and data content management support.
As a Systems Engineer Lead YOU will:
- • Research emerging technologies and provide process improvement suggestions to benefit the government on such issues as requirements, help desk tickets, content management, document administration, etc.
- • Provide input on how to make the JTDI system easier to manage by suggesting new capabilities on the portal and in the software suite.
- • Participate in code reviews for all software products to note quality issues as well as information assurance problems.
- • Engage contractors in detailed development discussions, provide feedback, and participate in design reviews for all software products.
- • Review deliverables and provide input as requested for SE documents (SEP, TEMP, OCMP, Requirements Management, etc.).
- • Suggest and maintain metrics for tracking efficiency in SE processes (as needed).
- • Assist with the execution of customer requirements supporting sustainment activities.
- • Generate weekly status reports.
- • Review and dis/approve Engineering Change Requests and Proposals (ECRs and ECPs), as needed.
- • Assist with planning and reviewing project schedules.
- • Assess project performance, efficiencies, productivity, and lessons learned.
- • Generate and review trouble tickets and customer needs forms, as required.
- • Work closely with all IPTs and contractor support within the program to ensure project execution and assist in the resolution of issues.
- • Communicate potential risks and issues with the PMO.
- • Support overall Program activities by contributing inputs and changes to project statuses, schedules, processes, and data-calls.
- • Participate in Technical Exchange Meetings, customer/systems integration planning, requirements gathering discussions, and other Program/System events, as required.
- • Additional functions not specifically outlined in this position description as directed by leadership.
YOU are the ideal Systems Engineer candidate if you have:
- • BS/BA in IT or related field
- • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the following areas'
- o software projects and Government off-the-shelf (GOTS) products
- o software testing, development, and integration
- o project management
- o Cybersecurity authorizations and principles
- • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
- • Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for secret clearance.
- • U.S. citizenship
It’s a BONUS if you have:
- • Security+ or OS certifications strongly desired
- • DOD experience
- • Current government secret security clearance
