Senior Engineer - (Water & Coastal Resources)

Summary
The ideal candidate for this role will be comfortable working on projects with a diverse team of engineers and scientists, completing water resources/coastal/civil engineering and related technical assignments. Work may include hydrologic analysis related to stormwater planning and flood control; water-quality analysis in urban and/or rural settings; hydraulic analysis and design related to rivers, streams, conveyances, dams, bridge hydraulics, green infrastructure, coastal hydraulic design and other hydraulic structures; preparation of technical reports, plans, and specifications; and working with clients, permitting agencies, and public officials. Assignments may also include working with or supervising project teams involved in hydrologic/hydraulic/coastal modeling, water-quality modeling, GIS, and CADD work.

Essential Job Duties
Hydrologic and Hydraulic (H&H) and coastal modeling
Technical management of teammates and work products
BMP/green infrastructure design and modeling
Preparing H&H studies, drainage reports, design documents, and design plans and specifications for water resources projects
Technical writing in the form of memorandums, feasibility studies, regulatory submittals, and master plans
Assisting with developing scopes of work and associated budgets
Watershed master planning, stormwater master planning
Report or planning level documents CIP development
Overcome water resources challenges such as precipitation and flooding data analysis, urban and rural hydrologic analysis, open channel and pipe flow analysis, hydraulic structures, shoreline stabilization, stream restoration, coastal structures, hydrodynamic forces, floodplain analysis and mapping, dam break analysis, and dam and levee analysis and design.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in civil, coastal, environmental, or water resources engineering
8–10 years of water resources engineering experience with a focus on hydraulics, hydrology, coastal, and/or water quality
Professional engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within one year
Project management experience
Experience with water resources challenges such as precipitation and flooding data analysis, urban and rural hydrologic analysis, open channel and pipe flow analysis, hydraulic structures, shoreline stabilization, stream restoration, coastal structures, hydrodynamic forces, floodplain analysis and mapping, dam break analysis, and dam and levee analysis and design
Familiarity with hydrologic & hydraulic and coastal modeling approaches and commonly used software
Working knowledge of GIS and CADD software
Experience with proposal development
Experience with client management and business development
Familiarity with water resources data collection methodologies
Flexible working style and willingness to occasionally modify personal schedule as required to meet deadlines and/or client needs
Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
Legal authorization to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship
Acceptable driving record

Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree or PhD in civil, coastal, environmental, or water resources engineering, with a focus on hydraulics, hydrology, coastal, and/or water quality
+10 years of water resources engineering experience with a focus on hydraulics, hydrology, coastal, and/or water quality
Experience leading proposal management and development
Demonstrated success in business development and client management
Experience with GIS, CADD, SWMM, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, ADCIRC, SWAN, Delft-3D, and water quality modeling
Strong technical skills in a broad range of civil engineering topics
Experience with site development design and plans and specifications
Construction observation, fieldwork, and surveying experience
