Manufacturing company seeking a Vp of Finance. Qualified candidates must be located in NJ or Staten Island due to commuting purposes.


Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage all Finance and Administration functions of the business including
Accounting, Financial Planning, Information Technology, and Import logistics.  Implement strategies that support the company's overall goals and objectives and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.  Manage inventory levels, identify, and mitigate financial risks, optimize the company's tax position, and provide strategic financial leadership to the executive team.

Oversee a team of:
Treasurer, Director of Applications Development, Director of Network Communication Systems

Duties 
  1. Develop and oversee the company's financial planning and analysis process, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.  Develops, directs, and maintains procedures for three-year plans and annual budgeting.  Conducts financial analysis and assists in the planning and decision making throughout the Corporation through advice and consultation.
  2. Oversee the preparation and distribution of accurate and timely financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, and other financial reports.
  3. Manage the company's accounting operations, including the maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records and compliance with all accounting standards and regulations.
  4. Develop and implement financial policies and procedures that align with the company's overall goals and objectives and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  5. Directs the financial aspects of inventory management and capital expenditures in accordance with approved policies.  Exercises overall direction over the preparation and coordination of the corporation’s strategic plan, capital plan and profit and operational plan.
  6. Ensures the company is compliant with all import regulations and requirements including customs clearance, duty payments and product safety standards. Maintains accurate records of all import transactions.
  7. Oversee import logistics, including negotiating freight rates, tracking shipments, and monitoring transit times. Manage relationships with freight forwarders, customs brokers and other third-party logistic providers to ensure optimal service levels and cost efficiency.  Monitors reporting of import logistics performance measurements to identify opportunities for improvement and coordinates with cross functional teams, to implement process improvements.
  8. Formulates and recommends for approval, proposals on banking and borrowing arrangements.  Establishes and maintains an advantageous relationship with banks and other segments of the financial community.  Manage the company's cash flow and liquidity and oversee the investment of company funds to ensure optimal returns.  Monitors and manages foreign exchange risk and interest rate risk.
  9. Oversee the management of the company’s insurance programs, including property and casualty, liability, ocean cargo, cyber and other corporate insurance policies.  Ensures that credit risks are adequately covered through credit insurance coverage.  Maintains relationships with insurance brokers and insurance company representatives.
  10. Identify and mitigate financial risks to the business, including credit risk, market risk, and operational risk.
  11. Ensure the company is compliant with all tax regulations and optimize the company's tax position through effective tax planning.  Maintains up to date transfer pricing policies for transacting business with the subsidiary in Canada.
  12. Provide strategic financial leadership to the executive team and contribute to the development of the company's overall strategy and business plan.
  13. Directs Security programs and oversees required actions to safeguard Corporate assets.
  14. Directs the activities of Information Technology in its development and review of systems, its Data Processing operations and research, and its review of Management Information requirements.  Formulates and recommends for approval, proposals for information systems including the evaluation and recommendation of Data processing equipment and Data Communication requirements. Reviews cyber security strategies and recommends changes to mitigate cyber threats.
  15. Oversees the legal review of all the company’s contracts and ensures that contracts are reviewed and negotiated in a timely and effective manner.  Ensures compliance with the company’s contractual obligations under these contracts.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field; Master's degree or CPA strongly preferred.
  • Must have run a business of a minimum of 100mm
  • Experience as a Senior Executive reporting to a CEO
