Looking for a Wholesale Director of Sales for Department Stores. The Director of Sales will be responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with buyers and senior management. The ideal candidate is both strategic and detail oriented and has a strong background in both financial and product planning. This person will be responsible for all aspects of sales for their business, including market management and market prep, re-orders, selling, monitoring of profitability, and management of account projections. The candidate must possess the ability to identify challenges and opportunities while providing solutions and recommendations for each. This role will report to the VP of Sales. Responsibilities:
Develop, drive, and motivate the existing sales team
Work strategically to achieve and exceed seasonal and annual sales targets
Manage, develop, and maintain strong relationships with department store buying teams
Oversee showroom appointments for your account base
Analyze weekly selling reports and maximize opportunities with team thru reorders, swaps, and recuts
Manage open to buy for assigned accounts
Strategize on initiatives to increase sales
Identify and communicate opportunities to increase profitability
Partner with merchandising and planning to ensure assortment meets the needs of accounts
Manage the execution of in-store events for key accounts to drive full-price sales
Create detailed market prep to highlight account needs, plans, and budgets
Provide communication from department store partners regarding product needs and feedback
Oversee retail coordinator team supporting all department store locations in the field
Partner cross-functionally with teams within the company to support wholesale initiatives and drive success (Marketing, Creative, Planning, Merchandising, etc.)
Qualifications:
8+ years of experience working in the corporate office of a women’s RTW and/or denim industry.
Solid understanding of market needs
Advanced understanding of Excel
Team oriented but also self-driven with entrepreneurial spirit
Proven track record of growing a business
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong negotiation and presentation skills
Experience leading a team
The base salary range for this role is between $150,000 and $160,000. The relevant base salary will vary depending on a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training, degrees, and certifications.
