Payroll Manager

Cleveland, Ohio

Job Overview: The Payroll Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of the payroll function, ensuring accurate and timely processing of employee compensation, adherence to regulatory requirements, and effective communication with internal stakeholders.

Salary Range: $90 – 100K plus bonus
                          - Hybrid schedule


Payroll Processing:

    • Oversee managed payroll partners
    • Oversee and perform activities necessary for the end-to-end payroll process, including data input, calculations, and disbursement of salaries.
    • Oversee and perform calculations for prevailing wage projects.
    • Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll transactions, such as new hires, terminations, promotions, and other changes.
    • Verify and reconcile payroll data to ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements.

Compliance:
    • Stay current with relevant federal, state, and local tax regulations and labor laws.
    • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements related to payroll, taxes, and deductions, including state and local tax set up.
    • Prepare and submit payroll-related reports to regulatory agencies as required.

System Management:
    • Proficiency with Ceridian Dayforce payroll system to in order to maintain payroll software/systems and streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to payroll systems.
    • Collaborate with the IT department as needed to implement system upgrades or changes.

Recordkeeping:
    • Oversee and compile prevailing wage certified payroll reports.
    • Maintain accurate and organized payroll records.
    • Generate and distribute payroll reports to relevant departments.

Employee Communication:
    • Respond to employee inquiries related to payroll matters.
    • Provide clear and concise communication to employees regarding payroll policies, procedures, and deadlines.

Audit and Analysis:
    • Conduct regular audits to ensure payroll accuracy and identify discrepancies.
    • Collaborate with internal and external auditors during audits.

Collaboration:
    • Coordinate with HR, Finance, and other relevant departments to ensure seamless integration of payroll processes.
    • Collaborate with external vendors, such as benefits providers and tax agencies.

Continuous Improvement:
    • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices.
    • Stay informed about industry trends and technological advancements in payroll processing.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience in payroll processing and management.
  • Knowledge of relevant federal, state, and local tax regulations.
  • Proficiency with Ceridian Dayforce payroll software and systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
