Are you an experienced engineer in the metal fabrication industry looking to join a dynamic company?
You will be responsible for:
1. Prototype Oversight
Print organization, interfacing with operations team on Purchase Orders items, sourcing fasteners or "add ons," QuickBooks entry, developing traveler, and seeing parts through the various processes in the shop.
2. Part Revisions and Document Control
Following the process for receiving customer revisions, overseeing complete organization, and efficiently communicating changes with the entire shop to ensure producing proper parts.
3. Customer Returns and Root Cause Analysis / Process Improvement
Handling and inspecting all customer returns. Conducting root cause analysis for why we produced an item incorrectly and work on improving processes to prevent it from happening in the future.
4. Quality Control / Part Inspection
Oversee the first part inspection amongst departments. Help production with dissecting prints and understanding critical dimensions.
5. Purchasing / Sourcing Technical Support
Support plant manager in sourcing/purchasing hardware and other items needed in production.
6. Process and Procedure Development
Develop processes for various duties around the shop, such as handling new prints, revisions, quoting, travelers, etc.
7. Trumpf Boost Support and 3D CAD Modeling
Help transition customer prints and models into Trumpf Boost (fka TruTops) software and ensure finished parts match the customer's original images.
8. Customer Account Support
Interface with a customer if an issue arises and the account manager is busy with other things.
Develop trust and relationships with larger customers and aid in improving their prototype designs.
Experience in the following is necessary:
Manufacturing experience and knowledge of punches, press brake bending, welding, and laser cutting.
Strong print reading skills
Strong quality control skills and experience with calipers and micrometers
Strong communication and team skills (both with customers and coworkers of all levels)
3D CAD experience
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering preferred.
