eDiscovery Counsel

Are you an experienced eDiscovery attorney eager to join a growing team? This is a practicing attorney position and a great role for someone who wants to join a firm that is frequently selected as the eDiscovery counsel for major national and international corporate clients as well as top Am Law firms. Candidates should be passionate about eDiscovery with the ability to provide practical and innovative advice on how to best leverage tools such as Relativity and Brainspace to streamline workflows and deliver efficient and cost-effective solutions. This is a position with one foot in the traditional practice of law and one foot in leveraging eDiscovery tools and combining the two for effective and efficient representation. Hands-on expertise within Relativity is required in addition to demonstrated practice experience advising on and executing eDiscovery practices. Candidates may work remotely and must be licensed in at least one of the following jurisdictions: California, Illinois, Minnesota, Virginia, and/or Washington D.C. Please note that this is not a doc review position.
 
  • Some experience in eDiscovery and information governance within a law firm, consulting advisory firm, or corporate management function
  • Extensive experience advising clients on a range of eDiscovery issues, developing discovery plans, complying with best practices, implementing and leveraging discovery analytics and technology, managing the discovery process, and defending and resolving issues that arise during the course of discovery
  • Excellent judgment and be able to exercise it under pressure
  • Ability to impress and handle a range of clients
  • Demonstrated ability and thought leadership in one or more practice areas of value to the Firm
  • Strong technical, client management, project plan design, facilitation, and project leadership skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with all levels of Firm team members, clients, and business partners
  • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Knowledge of legal principles specifically on eDiscovery, information governance, and data privacy and be up to date with the existing and emerging law, legislation, and practices
  • Ability to function in a high-energy, fast-paced environment
  • Ability to maintain an atmosphere where team spirit thrives on cooperation, trust, and empowerment
  • Admission to the bar in at least one of the following jurisdictions: California, Illinois, Minnesota, Virginia, Washington D.C.

Expected salary for this role is $180,000 - $250,000, commensurate with experience, training, skills, qualifications, and other market factors.
