Bookkeeper - Construction Industry Accountant

Webuild (www.webuildstaffing.com) is currently seeking a highly skilled Construction Bookkeeper to play a pivotal role in the accounting division of a prestigious ultra luxury, residential development company located in the Los Angeles area (Beverly Hills, Calabasas, Malibu, Santa Barbara, etc.).

The ideal candidate we are searching for should possess a strong bookkeeping background, with more than 5 years of hands-on experience in overseeing the day-to-day financial operations of the accounting department for a construction organization. This multifaceted role involves diligently managing various aspects, such as processing accounts receivables, handling payables, ensuring compliance with the general ledger, conducting secure bank deposits, performing thorough job cost reconciliations, and actively participating in the preparation of financial reports for month and year-end closings pertinent to residential development.

The Bookkeeper will work closely alongside the senior leadership team to uphold financial controls within the organization. Responsibilities extend to taking charge of the general ledger functions and executing the day-to-day activities of corporate accounting. This encompasses duties like processing accounts receivables, skillfully handling payables, coding invoices, accurately recording sales transactions and bank deposits, and ensuring that general ledger accounts are systematically debited and credited in accordance with established accounting standards. Additionally, the Accountant will be counted on to provide invaluable administrative support to the project management teams, further cementing their integral role in the company's operations.

Qualifications for this role include an Associate’s Degree in Accounting or related industry experience. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are imperative, as effective communication is integral to this position's success. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks is a prerequisite, given their essential roles in facilitating accurate financial management and reporting.
